Risk Assessment
Step 1: Identify the Hazard
During the inspection of the establishment it wasfound that there were several pieces of electricalequipment that were out of order andmalfunctioning
 There were at least 3 kitchen appliances that werefound to have serious faults, such as brokenvalves, frayed power cords and exposed live wires. This damage was caused by workers tripping onwires because they were laid across the floor.
During an inspection it was found that theappliances were still in use because the owner hadnot replaced or repaired them.
Due to the wet environment in the kitchen, there isa high risk of workers being electrocuted byattempting to use the damaged equipment.
