This Malaysian Studies project has been very successful through out. This interesting group project has given each and every group member a better understanding and insight on our own culture, the Malaysian culture. The eight of us felt lucky and appreciative to be part of this Malaysian culture. Through out this project, we could observe that every member in this group was very enthralled with the idea of this project. To justify our accomplishment, we can affirm with conviction that we have successfully developed our communication skills by interacting with different languages and dialects. Knowing Malaysia is a well assimilated populace, we were well equipped with the languages that were articulated among the Malaysian during the Night Market visit. We have successfully interacted with the people using dialects for example Cantonese, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka and most commonly, English. They were used during our interviews with the people in the Night Market. Besides the above accomplishment, we could say that this group project was successful because every group member learned how to work as a team, delegate the workload amongst ourselves and managed our time properly. This group project could not have been a success without every inch of an effort coming from eight of us. This coalition from eight members from getting the team together on the first day, until the very last moment we completed the project, was very phenomenal because all of us came from different backgrounds. Almost half of our group members were unacquainted in dealing with group projects. Stupendously, we managed to pull everything together within this 3 months period. In addition to that, the success of this project can be reasoned with our demonstration to a better understanding and knowledge about the Malaysian Night Market. After this project, we learnt how a Night Market is operated. We had a better insight on the way the people bargain and the way the sales people carry out their marketing strategies. We observed the way the shouted out their prices and the way they attracted many customers to take a look at their products. Going back on our objectives, we are objected to instill better understanding about the cultural aspect and lifestyle of Malaysian Night market amongst us and this objective had been achieved when the sales people explained in detail their lifestyle and routine. We were given an intuition on how they run their business, how much they usually earn and how hard it is to sell during different weathers especially during a rainy day. To conclude our success, we can indubitably say that our project was indeed the product of our hard work, consistency and persistency. The process of this project was definitely worth while as we have learnt a lesson of our lifetime. (460 words)
