STS-51F INSIGNIA
S85-29498 -- The space shuttle Challenger is depicted ascending toward the heavens in search of newknowledge in the field of solar and stellar astronomy, with its Spacelab 2 payload. The constellations Leoand Orion are in the positions they will be in relative to the sun during the flight. The nineteen stars signifythat this will be the 19th shuttle flight. The artist was Skip Bradley of Houston.The NASA insignia design for space shuttle flights is reserved for use by the astronauts and for other official use as the NASA Administrator may authorize. Public availability has been approved only in the form of illustrations by the various news media.
