FOR NORTHEAST PA
This area includes but is not limited to cities such as Towanda, Montrose, Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre.
This Briefing applies to the NWS Binghamton Service Area only:
 
Executive Summary
Significant warm-up expected this weekend with a widespread rain.
 – 
Any remaining snow will likely melt.
Highest threat will be localized ice  jam flooding Friday into Sunday.
 – 
Many streams and rivers have a lot of ice from the recent cold.
 – 
On-going ice jams will worsen.
 – 
The rain and mild temperatures could lead to additional ice jam flood problems.
Not expecting any flooding along the main stem rivers.
