This paper analyzes and compares the pursuit that led to the American Hegemony in and after the Second World War. A key argument of the paper is that the development of American hegemony generally, and the distinctive turn in American foreign policy that has occurred in the wake of Second World War in particular, can be explained by placing the events that shaped the American foreign policy in a comparative and historical framework. The post-World War II order (World Order 2.0) reshaped the international system and laid the foundation of a highly institutionalised multilateral system that provided key benefits for a number of countries whilst simultaneously constraining and enhancing American power. This paper will analyze the process and the key strategies of American policies that resulted a continuous hegemony of US in the international system since Second World war.
