, de eerste musealeoverzichtstentoonstelling in Nederlandvan het werk van de kunstenaarMeschac Gaba (Cotonou, Benin, 1961).Meschac Gaba presenteerde de eerstezaal van zijn Museum of ContemporaryAfrican Art, de Salle Esquisse of DraftRoom, in 1997 op de Rijksakademie inAmsterdam. In 2002 toonde hij de laat-ste zaal – de Humanist Space – op deDocumenta11 in Kassel. Zijn museum bestaat in totaal uit twaalf zalen, die inverschillende instituten in verschillendelanden te zien zijn geweest. In MuseumDe Paviljoens is Gaba’s Museum of Contemporary African Art voor het eerstin zijn geheel te bezoeken.
