Summary
 An archaeological watching brief was carried out outside the Old Post Office, HighStreet, Newport, on the groundwork for repositioning the D-Day Landings memorial presently located in John Frost Square. The excavation required was not of sufficient depth to reach archaeological levels, and only modern materials were encountered.
