People sometimes encounter difficult situations or cri-ses in their lives and often benefit from the professional counseling services that are available at their Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC). Counseling contributes to personal readiness by providing the opportunity to develop problem
solving skills that can reduce stress in the workplace or in personal relationships.
Long deployments, frequent moves, and mission readi-ness demands impose many stresses on military fami-lies, often leading to marital and parent child conflict. Concern for the welfare of Navy families and the ef-fects of family violence on military performance prompted the establishment of the Family Advocacy Program.
The Fleet & Family Support Program (FFSP) offers prevention, identification, treatment and follow
up. All efforts are geared toward victim safety and protection, offender accountability and rehabilitation.
