Pain Management vs. Pain Recovery
widely accepted course o pain management treatment is opioid pain medication. Painkillers can be quiteeective in diminishing pain, but or some, there is a risk o developing chemical dependency. Over time, withsome patients, the amount o opioid pain medication is increased with initial pain relie, but not prolonged painresolution. With these people, the dose continues to escalate with continued unrelenting pain and decreasing unction. Our program will saely detoxiy someone rom his/her opioids and other habit-orming medications and then begin totreat his/her physical and emotional pain that usually accompanies years o suering. Our multidisciplinary team willreview a potential pain client candidate to determine i we are the appropriate acility or that client.
LVRC is proud to introduce the concept o pain recovery, which reduces the physical symptoms o pain and teaches clientshow to eliminate emotional suering.Te multidisciplinary treatment team will review the client’s progress regularly and sta will report progress to theworkman’s compensation case manager. Our clinicians will set up treatment goals, which are regularly reviewed in thesemultidisciplinary sta meetings. Return to work may be one o the goals o the treatment plan i easible. We will addressany ears or uncertainty about returning to work in coordination with the case manager. Discharge planning is crucial inthe early stages o treatment. Te multidisciplinary treatment team will acilitate appropriate levels o care upon discharge.Reerrals will be made to applicable service providers upon discharge. We will consult with the case manager about thisprocess prior to completion.
