MAKING TIME: MAKE A NOTE OF IT
For my mother, lie without lists would beunmanageable. In recent years, I’ve oundthat I share her need or written reminders.Whether you’ve got a hectic lie, or just asieve or a brain, having a handy book at theready or phone numbers, to-do lists, orwee poems and ideas, can be the dierencebetween productivity and chaos. Here aretwo simple notebooks that you can makeout o scrap paper – choose between pop-art inspired Tetra Pak and a traditionalChinese bookbinding method.
Notebook No. 1:Fabric-covered diary
By Jiang (Jan) Yinghua andSabine Schneider
This method o binding originated in China, but quickly spreadrom there to other Asian countries, such as Korea, Japan,Malaysia, Singapore. Outside o China, the notebooks werecovered in paper. For this one we're using abric, but eel ree toexperiment with paper i you like. The abric should bereasonably thin, an old shirt will do, or scraps rom a sewingproject. I you have to buy some, go to a abric shop and ask orthe remnant bin or at quarters or quilting. We’ve used an oldtea-tray liner or the one shown here, so eel ree to get creative.
