MCI course 57.14a, Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Reconnaissanceand Contamination Avoidance, provides instruction to all Marines having duties that may requireoperating in a contaminated environment.2.Scope. MCI 57.14a addresses ITS 5711.2.2, 5711.2.3, and 5711.2.6 found in MCO1510.71A. It also provides the individual with a non-57XX MOS with enough information tomake the Marine an asset to the unit's NBC defense teams.3.Applicability. This course is intended for instructional purposes only. It is designed forMarines in the ranks of private through gunnery sergeant in any MOS who are or may beassigned to monitor/survey teams as a collateral duty and privates through staff sergeants in theMOS of 5711.4.Recommendations. Comments and recommendations on the contents of this course textare invited and will aid in subsequent course revisions.
