Public and Stakeholder Outreach
The Planning Department solicited public and stakeholder participation in the small groupdiscussions and online survey through a variety of means. The survey was publicized via aPlanning Department press release, newsletter, and media coverage on WTOP radio and in theWashington Business Journal. Invitations to participate in small group discussions were sent tocivic associations, community non-profits, municipal governments, County government staff andofficials, institutional leaders, builders, developers, land use lawyers and consultants. Peoplewho completed the survey and provided their contact information were invited to participate inthe small group discussions as the schedule permitted.

Small Group Discussion Questions
1. What works and what does not work in our current code? Of the items that are notworking, what are the greatest problems? What provisions are consistently difficult to interpret?2. What do you think are the most successful aspects of the code?3.
