MINIMUM PPE REQUIREMENT FOR UNLOADING IS: SAFETY VEST OR HIGH VISIBILITY CLOTHING: TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. SAFETY BOOTS: TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. SAFETY GLASSES: TO BE WORN DURING DELIVERY. PVC GLOVES: TO BE WORN WHEN HANDLING EQUIPMENT OR PRODUCT. FULL COVER CLOTHING TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES
PROCEDURE
ON ARRIVAL AT DELIVERY SITE
Park the vehicle in a safe position at the fill point. Ensure there are no ignition sources in the area. Remove keys from cabin and secure vehicle cabin Apply PPE report to customer and advise of the products and quantities to be delivered/ Sign in as required. Request delivery instructions and ask if customer wishes to dip the truck.
PLAN DELIVERY
Using safety cones to manage traffic, gauge customer tank ullage and SFL using double dip and record on delivery docket TAKE CARE WHEN DIPPING TANKS, BE AWARE OF SITE TRAFFIC AROUND YOU. FACE TRAFFIC WHEN DIPPING. Double Dip all tanks, wiping stick clean between dips. GLOVES AND SAFETY GLASSES MUST BE WORN WHEN HANDLING PRODUCT. Calculate ullage in each tank and plan delivery as per the delivery sheet. Ullage MUST ONLY BE CALCULATED to the tank SAFE FILL LEVEL Check for any defects prior to delivery
EXECUTE DELIVERY
Place safety cones, if required, around discharge area to mark work area and divert any traffic flow. Check the fill point marker. If fill point is not marked do not deliver. Advise your Operations manager and seek instructions. Check delivery docket against the product markers and confirm it is correct Identify correct fill point and connect fittings and delivery hose. Identify correct compartment and connect delivery hose. Recheck the vehicle compartment number and product against the paperwork and the customers tank. Do not open the outlet valve until you are sure you have made the correct connections and it is the correct product for that tank. Partially open outlet valve checking for leaks. Open the truck outlet valve to commence discharge. YOU MUST STAY NEAR THE OUTLETS WHILE PRODUCT IS DISCHARGING. CHECK AGAIN that the product is flowing and that the product colour is correct at the sight glass and monitor discharge until compartment is empty. Before disconnecting hose check compartment is empty by checking sight glass and trailer air gauge to ensure internal valve is open. Close outlet valve and disconnect hose. BE MINDFUL TO CATCH ANY SPILLAGE BY USING A SLOPS BUCKET. Drain hose by sequentially lifting hose towards fill point. Disconnect ground fitting and immediately cap fill point. Repeat the above steps for each compartment until discharge is completed. Perform after delivery dip of all tanks and record volumes Record the quantity discharged into each tank onto the delivery docket.
CONTINGENCIES
If a tank overfill occurs immediately shutdown product flow. Do not disconnect any hose or open dip cap. Advise your supervisor immediately. If a product mix occurs immediately shut down product flow and advise site operator to cease selling product from contaminated tanks. Advise your supervisor immediately. ANY INCIDENT OR LOSS OF PRODUCT MUST BE REPORTED TO YOUR SUPERVISOR IMMEDIATELY.
DOCUMENTATION
Check that your after dip volumes match the before dips plus the delivered quantity. Any major errors must be reported immediately to your supervisor. Check that all compartments are empty and dip and outlet caps are secured. Ensure that all customer tank dip and fill caps have been replaced securely and cover plates have been refitted. Complete the paperwork, ensure delivery details and the time of delivery is recorded. For attended deliveries, the customer and driver must sign the delivery docket. For unattended deliveries the driver must sign the delivery docket. Sign Out of site as required. Before leaving site, ensure the area around your vehicle and your exit route is clear.
