Philosophy is the process whereby we examine not only our opinions on various matters, but also the assumptions underlying them and the perspectives that lead to those - generally in the hope that we will thereby be led to a more coherent view on life. This is a take on various issues which taken together, lead to something like a coherent world view. Putting them all together makes it easier to show how it all fits together.

This is a creative work, a single such work not a multiplicity of them. Hence this is an 'Opus'. You will not know much more about it until you actually read it, and how you will react to it then is something the author does not know. Uncertainty and unpredictability is in practice the same as randomness. Hence, 'Random Opus'.

Introduction
You could say that this is a philosophical work pretendingto be a short story - but it makes no such claim. Thisformat merely seems useful to illuminate the processesthat led to some of my beliefs. Further, the process ofsearching for answers is often more valuable than anyconcrete conclusions in such matters, primarily becausegoing through the process enables us to examine and thuschange our mindset as we desire, whereas just beinghanded conclusions means that we look at thoseconclusions along the same lines of thought that we areotherwise used to. Thus, those conclusions are not sovaluable by themselves.Another thing that needs to be addressed here is thereason for writing this book: it is not because I have gaineddefinitive insights into the issues I examine. Rather, myideas keep changing - another reason why the format ofthe book is like this: sometimes going over the argumentsmade me reconsider my own opinions. However, mostlikely my ideas will never really crystallize - this is notsomething I fear but rather something I embrace, as Iwould want the later parts of my life to mean as much tome as its first parts. So my ideas will likely nevercrystallize, but finding myself to be fundamentallyinterconnected with other people and other entities in thefabric of life it would be a waste to spend all my life thinking
