Chapter 2
The Rescue of Princess Kimma

On Planet Sarillion, the day was starting out for Princess Kimma like they alwaysdid.“Nana,” called out Princess Kimma. “Nana, do you know where my blue ridingboots are?” Kimma led a perfect life, at least that is what it looked like if you were anordinary Sarillion girl, looking at Kimma’s life from the outside. She had ten closets full ofclothes and eight dressers full of accessories (she didn’t know how many hats, scarves, bracelets, shoes, earrings, handbags and belts she had). She never had to clean herroom, there were palace servants that did that. She got to travel to exotic places and shemet really interesting kids from other planets who traveled with their Ambassador parentsto Sarillion. She never appeared to have blemishes or gain weight, even after a hugefeasting banquet. She knew just about anything that was worth knowing about because a Princesshas to be ready for anything. She had riding lessons, fencing lessons, swimminglessons, music lessons, painting lessons, singing lessons, Yadi lessons (which is aSarillion game that is sort of like a soccer game), language lessons, other culturesensitivity lessons, universal navigation lessons, hovercraft and space ship flying

24lessons, diving lessons, gymnastics lessons, science lessons, math lessons and about20 other classes on things important to know when ruling a planet. She could speak 413languages and more than a few dialects in some of those languages. This would get herready to communicate when she took over the leadership of Sarillion as its next ruler andhad to interact with other species traveling from other planets. She looked fabulous any time of the day, she could charm even the most upsetdiplomat or adult, and her hair always did exactly what she wanted it to. The only faultshe had, and only her closest family members, servants and friends were aware of thisshort coming, was she loved to cook. But what she made was almost impossible to eat.“Soooo?” she would ask, eager for any feedback from anyone that she hadtasting her latest cooking or baking results. “What do you think of what I made today?”“My dear,” the head cook would respond. “The smell as it was cooking was mostinviting; your presentation on the plate was quite lovely. Hmmn, but I think the sauce onthe desert was a bit odd. What was it again you were trying to make?”“What do you mean? I thought everyone could tell it was chocolate cheesecakewith chili sauce,” responded Kimma very concerned. “The chilies looked rather small andthey were such a pretty color red, I thought a few more would be a good thing.”“Chilies in cheesecake, what a novel idea,” responded the cook. Why wouldanyone choose to add chilies to cheesecake? she thought to herself, careful not to sayanything out loud that might hurt Kimma’s feelings. When Kimma trapped some palace servants, teachers, or her family to test outher latest creation, they always thanked her and left the room very quickly with an excuseso they didn’t have to eat anything.Once when she was talking to her Mother about it she said, “I am thinking that Iwill have to change the time I invite people to sample my cooking and baking and not doit anymore at tea time. It seems like people come and enjoy getting together. But thenso many beepers go off just when the tea sandwiches and cookies are brought to the
