Buffalo Board of Education (BOE) and the Superintendent of the Buffalo Public Schools Carl P. Paladino January 16, 2014 Everybody else Agenda for the January 22, 2014 meeting of the BOE

1.) I re-submit item #20, Motion # 50. Considering the anticipated budget deficit for the 2014-15 school year and the surplus of over 2,000 seats in our buildings significant cost savings are available by closing buildings and turning them over to the City. I therefore move that the CFO furnish the BOE with its recommendations for consolidations, relocations and the closing of buildings for the next school year. 2.) Item # 41.Motion #47. The Charter School for Applied Technologies (CSAT) has been abused in the past by the negative attitude of members of the majority of the BOE toward Charter Schools. CSAT has been doing an outstanding job educating Buffalo students, and is agreeable to pay the share of the cost not reimbursed by the State Education Department (SED). Adding busing for CSAT will not cost the BPS one nickel. I therefore move that the BOE immediately furnish busing to the Charter School for Applied Technologies. 3.) Item # 44. Motion # 48. Former Pinnacle Charter School. I move that the Superintendent immediately conduct negotiations with CSAT and SED to return the former Pinnacle School to Charter status either as a Regents or District Charter so as to allow the student body, parents and children to continue their harmonious and nurturing relationship and not allow the children to be disbursed throughout the Buffalo Public Schools. 4.) Item #47. Motion #53. Forged signature and retaliation issue. The gravity of the crime committed and the evidence assembled to date raise the question of conflict for any further efforts by the Superintendent to investigate the matter. There is a prima facie case of forgery, an attempt to cover up and whitewash the issue and alleged retaliation against Mrs. Jones. I therefore move that the BOE instruct the Superintendent to immediately and formally refer the issue of retaliation against Mrs. Jones to Karl Kristoff for investigation. 5.) Item #13. Motion #52. The DPCC has repeatedly complained to the BOE about the Superintendent's lack of cooperation, clarity and partnership as well as her failure to give reasonable notice to the DPCC on issues in which they are involved. I move that the Superintendent be admonished by the BOE to correct her failures in dealing with all parental groups including the DPCC.
