Lieutenant Governor to celebrate Lincoln Alexander Day, present youth awards


Toronto, January 20, 2014. The Hon. David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will recognize three young Ontarians with the Lincoln M. Alexander Award for their sustained leadership in eliminating racial discrimination. The awards ceremony will take place on January 21, the first Lincoln Alexander Day in Ontario, which coincides with what would have been Mr. Alexanders 92nd birthday. He served as the 25th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from 1985 to 1991. The Lincoln Alexander Elementary School (Hamilton) Choir will take part in the celebration of Mr. Alexanders life and awards ceremony.
