LACIP PMU holds Orientation Workshop with Phase I-III Partner Organizations
A two day Orientation Session of the LACIP Partner Organizations was held on 29-30th November, 2012 in Peshawar. Project General Manager LACIP, Mr. Masood Khalid shared the objectives and scope of the two day orientation workshop with the Partner Organizations and emphasized on the development of Village Development Plans (VDP) for each revenue village. In his discussion, Mr. Masood focused on Multi -Sector Planning, which aims to enhance synergies between different kinds of objectives through identification, formulation, screening, ranking and programming of interventions. On the first day of the orientation workshop Mr. Taimur Jehangir of the LACIP PMU presented on value led Institutional development at grass root level and emphasized on the development of VDPs, MSPs and establishment of District Development Forums. Day one comprised of presentations from the PPAF units. Ms. Sabeen Younis and Dr. Sarah Khalid from H&E, Mr. Waqar Hussain from CPI, Mr. Sohaib Majeed from Procurement, Mr. Tariq Iqbal from Finance, Mr. Muhammad Basharat from LEP and Mr. Muzaffar Iqbal from ESM conducted detailed orientation presentations to the POs regarding the operations and processes of PPAF. Mr. Fahd Usman talked about record keeping and discussed the important factors involved in the feasibility of CPI Project Proposals sent by POs, the overall objectives to be achieved at the end of the Project and the Do No Harm approach. On the second day, Ms. Sana Zeeshan Shirazi discussed the short monthly progress report and the quarterly progress report formats with the POs and answered all queries.

Mr. Zeeshan Azam explained the formats for GIS coordinates for each component and talked about the various common errors made by POs regarding the coordinate formats. He also discussed the formulation of case studies and how the POs could create them in order to show the short term impact assessment of the interventions regarding each component.

LACIP PMU Members visit Partner Organizations in Chitral

The proposed Microhydel site at Gollen Istore was inspected by LACIP PMU member Fahd Usman and HELVETAS Senior National Expert Mr. Hayatullah Khan prior to its implementation. Mr Sajidin of the HELVETAS Team also analyzed the site from a disaster risk reduction perspective

Girls Primary School visited by LACIP PMU in the Union Council of Koh in Chitral

Project Manager-KfW Mr. Haroon Qureshi, Project General Manager-LACIP Mr. Masood Khalid, LACIP PMU members Fahd Usman and Dr. Robina Ashraf along with the Senior National experts of HELVETAS conducted a field visit to the Chitral Partner Organizations (AKRSP and MIED). Meetings were held with the AKRSP and MIED teams at their respective offices. The team visited 6 MIED schools and met with 3 LSOs in Chitral. Forward planning was done with the AKRSP management in order to define deliverables and activities against time in order to utilize 80% of the first installment. The core objective of the visit was to evaluate the progress made by POs against targets and disbursed funds and to discuss measures to resolve issues.

Fahd Usman and Dr. Robina carried out field visits to SWWS and NRSP in Swabi Project General Manager LACIP Mr. Masood Khalid held meetings with DCO Chitral, DG PDMA Peshawar, DCO Charsadda and Speaker Provincial Assembly with the core agenda of establishment of District Development Forum and Provincial Level Coordination Forum LACIP Documentary of the Swabi Profile has been finalized and will be shared on the LACIP website soon.
