Improvements Aboard the Badger

At this time, LMC is making progress implementing a modern combustion control system for the boilers aboard the
S. S. Badger.

The new combustion system will allow the ship to be more efficient - burning less coal and generating less ash. At this time, we have started receiving components for the boilers combustion control system.

The Marine Shop "Winter Gang" is making good progress in the preparations for installing the Badger's new combustion controls. The stokers have been removed from all four boilers and we are ready to "tackle" removing the broiler fronts.

Will Oskaboose, Nick Genter, Mike Braybrook, Tim Wagner and Bill Fay.

Life's fast enough...slow down, relax and reconnect. We'll do the driving!

Since the S.S. Badger's maiden voyage in 1953 she has created memories for millions of travelers.
The S.S. Badger is the largest carferry ever to sail Lake Michigan, providing a fun, reliable and affordable shortcut across the huge inland sea for more than sixty years.

Lake Michigan Carferry has always strived to provide a value based historic maritime experience that the entire family can enjoy while offering a reprieve from the fast paced, stressed and sometimes chaotic lifestyles that we lead. Sharing the Badger with your family and friends says something special about you!
