The AGE of MERCHANTS
An essay on the present evolution of theCapitalist socio-economic system beforedescent into ChaosAbout the triumph of selfishness and Humanstupidity.

OUTLINE OF THE ESSAY
This book has thirty three chapters divided in four parts. In the first part, I will try to explain my notion about the inneressence of the capitalist economic system, its natural laws andmechanism, and how these cannot be altered without changingthe system completely. These laws and mechanisms are thenatural result of a particular environment, they were naturallysuited to that environment; that original environment do not existanymore and they cannot rationally function in a differentsituation. In the second part, I will try to show the relation betweencapitalist economy and our present social and ecologicalproblems. I will try to show how the natural laws and mechanismof capitalist economy are producing unnatural and irrationalresults when applied in the present environment of saturation: anenvironment which is almost the opposite of that in which theselaws and mechanism have developed and could function in arational way.In the third part I will attempt to explain my point of view on waysby which we could evolve towards a more rational society. I willalso try to explain a simple philosophical basis that could be acatalyst for people of different backgrounds who have the samebasic interest in a meaningful survival. In the fourth part of the booklet I will try to put into perspectivethe background stage on which the Human race has evolved: asmall planet in one of the solar systems in a

galaxy in theUniverse. On this planet, Human

societies have

evolved, and

capitalist society is one of them: a brief moment in the history of Humanity. This brief analysis represents in essence my personal point of view on the nature of our present problems. I hope it may be acontribution to further and wider discussion.
