Sharana The video starts with Sarah Johnson, a volunteer at Sharana talking about her work here and Sharana. Sharana runs a number of community development initiatives that includes a schooling programme that enables underprivileged children to pursue a formal education and a community development programme that focuses on improving living conditions for poor families. Sharana is an organization that has been founded by Rajkala in 2000 at Pondicherry. Sarah helps this organization by teaching them how to generate revenue and maintaining accounts. She also introduces new project ideas and helps them to come out with schemes 2). IRRAD This video talk about the change that happened in the life of a girl named Munni by empowering her village Mewat which is located at Haryana. This video shows how IRAD had made changes to these villages in areas of Agriculture livelihood, Water management, Good local governance, Encouraging girls to go to school and ends by asking everyone to make a change. IRRAD Institute of Rural research and development is an initiative of S.M. Sehgal Foundation, registered as a trust and making a positive difference in India since 1999. 3). Environmental conservation The Eco-development Project is a program funded by Projects Abroad, aimed at promoting sustainable farming and environmental conservation in and around South Indian villages. The Eco-development Project began in 2001 as a tree-planting exercise in a remote village at the foot of the Western Ghat Mountains. This project has expanded to include the promotion of many environmentally-friendly farming practices and environmental education initiatives. The main highlight of their Eco-Development Project is the Green Village Model Farm, a demonstration site for many of the sustainable practices that they promote as part of their environmental development goals. Volunteers are totally responsible for the running and maintenance of the Green Village Model Farm site. Once every two weeks volunteers visit local markets to promote the idea of sustainable farming to local farmers. Environmental education programs are also conducted in local schools and orphanages promoting awareness of environmental and conservation issues.
