Lin’s Garden offers large Chinese & Japanese variety
By Lindsey Robbins, Chapel Hill News & Views
Lin’s Garden recently opened at 737 West Bankhead Highwayin Villa Rica. My husband and Irecently ate lunch there.Offering Chinese and Japa-nese cuisine, there is definitelysomething for everyone. Wegot to experience the buffet andwere amazed at the huge selec-tion of options. The buffet fea-tures four rows of buffet stationsoffering tons of Chinese meatand vegetable dishes as wellas steamed and fried rice andspring and egg rolls. It also haskid friendly foods such as friesand chicken fingers to satisfyeven the pickiest children. In the main buffet area thereis also a ‘dessert’ bar which hasa soft serve ice cream station, pastries, pudding, a huge selectionof fresh fruit and more. One of the most unique features of the buffet is that there isalso a Japanese hibachi bar that is included in price of the buffet(which is under $9.00)! I say this with an exclamation mark becauseHibachi is one of our favorite things to eat but the high cost of atraditional meal from a Japanese Steakhouse forces us to save itfor special occasions. Knowing that we can go to Lin’s Garden andget as much as we want for under $9.00 a piece is exciting. Youwalk up to the hibachi bar and place on a plate the meat (such aschicken, steak and scallops) and fruit and vegetables (such as zuc-chini, carrots, peppers, broccoli and mushrooms) that you want.Once you have your plate full of hibachi items, you hand it over tothe chef standing at the hibachi grill and choose your sauce (teri-yaki, ginger or my absolute favorite - seafood sauce) and he cooksit right as you wait and hands it back to you on a different plate. Aside from the buffet, they also have a full menu of Chinese andJapanese items that you can order to be delivered to your table.Owned by Heng and May Lin, the couple worked hard to makeit an authentic Chinese and Japanese experience importing muchof the decor from overseas including the lamps hanging outsideand a unique decorative wall inside. There is also an outdoor eat-ing area which features a stacked stone fountain and tables withumbrellas to protect you from the sun.To get to Lin’s Garden, take 1-20 West to Exit 24 (GA-61), makea right once off the exit and then turn left onto West BankheadHighway. The restaurant will be on your right. They offer dine in andtake out. They are open Monday through Thursday from 11:00amto 10:00pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 10:30pm andSunday from 11:30am to 9:30pm.
We want your restaurant reviews! Please send themto: submissions@chapelhillnews.net. It could be fea-tured in a future issue of Chapel Hill News & Views
