1. Use chalk or fabric marker to transfer the elasticplacement line onto the wrong side of the mitten. Allyou will really need is the beginning and end of theline.2. Attach a safety pin to one end of the elastic.Place the other end over one of your markings andanchor it to the mitten piece by stitching back andforth a bit.3. Then stretch the elastic and sew, holding the safetypin.4. When you come to the pin, unattach it and stitchback and forth again to secure the elastic.
