After the discovery of oil in the land, there was a tremendous improvement in the lives of the citizens from an impoverished lifestyle to one of the highest standard of living in the world.

UAE has a production growth rate of 4.2% last year. Gross Domestic Product rose to $358.9 billion in 2012. Twenty-five percent of their GDP is mainly based on oil.

Jobs: 4.337 billion (85% of them are occupied by expatriates) unemployment rate: 2.4%. Exports earnings: $300.9 billion (crude oil, natural gas, dried fish, and dates during 2012) Imports costs: $220.3 billion (machinery, equipments, and food during 2012)
