We are all one. That is simply the truth. Not in every way, but in essential ways. In our essence.

But most people do not see that, believe it, or credit it, and do not act in light of it. That is unfortunate--because many people are doing things that are extremely destructive and painful to the one that we are all parts of, and to one another. These things include blowing one another apart--fully or partly; shooting one another; stealing from one another; exploiting one another economically; sexually abusing one another; enslaving one another; polluting the world; destroying and disabling the ecosystems; skewing the climate. If people realized that we are all in this together, that we are all parts of one another, that we all are one, it is a short step to realize that it only makes sense to try to reduce the suffering and to increase the harmony of the planet as a whole, even though trying to do so will much limit our possible actions, i.e. our freedom, and will require much effort and struggle. But when people do not realize that we are all one, they will continue to act selshly, and to enshrine selshness. And selsh people who are also wealthy will continue to spread the baloney that selshness is an essential spring of our wellbeing--and people will continue to believe this.

That is our situation. Death, in selshness, confronts us. But there is a way forward. Realize that we are all one. And act accordingly.
