Do Front Gardens Matter?

Thursday 27th March 2014 at 7-30pm

Avenue House, 17 East End Road, N3 3QE
Join us for our Do Front Gardens Matter? discussion evening at Avenue House. We have invited a panel of experts to field your questions and stimulate a lively debate on the importance of front gardens. In a recent survey we found that 65% of all Finchleys front gardens had disappeared under concrete or block paving. Gone are the fences and gates, the rose bushes, flowerbeds, lawns, trees and hedges that once defined the suburbs. In their place, acres of block paving and motor cars. These hardstandings bring many environmental problems including: flooding, increased water and air pollution, heat island effect, more noise and dirt and so on. So where do we put the all cars? Is there anything we can do?
If you have any views come along for what promises to be an interesting and stimulating discussion evening. Please submit questions in writing by March 20 th.
