Carol McDonald, Co-President of the PTO, welcomed everyone in attendance to the second Pine Glen PTO meeting of the 201 -201! calendar year" Principal's Report #ohn $yons, Co-%ice President of the PTO, re&orted the following' Than( yo) to the &arents and the PTO for all their s)&&ort" *f yo) haven+t had a chance at this time &lease loo( at Ms" ,allon+s -log' Ms" ,allon.s -log Pine Glen /rt' *ns&iration 0tation 1htt&'22&ineglenart"wee-ly"com3 which has some of the great wor( are yo)ng artists at Pine Glen have created" Teachers and administrators thro)gho)t the district are ta(ing &art in the ado&tion of the new state mandated eval)ation system" This new system is a colla-oratively goal driven and evidence gathering system" * have had some rich conversations with grade levels teams a-o)t their goals and feel very fort)nate to wor( with s)ch (nowledgea-le and talented &rofessionals" The 4otary Cl)- did the ann)al donation of dictionaries to third grade" The other three elementary school &rinci&als and myself &resented at the 5th /nn)al 4T* 6est Practices *nstit)te which was held in 7orth Carolina" 6)rlington with its reso)rces, &arent s)&&ort and high 8)ality teachers made all the school systems there very 9ealo)s" The Pine Glen :indergarten had a great time at the ,ran(lin Par( ;oo" The Pine Glen :indergarten 0taff wo)ld li(e to than( the Pine Glen PTO for genero)sly f)nding the (indergarten field tri& tshirts again this year" The !th grade had a terrific 4oc(et Day and it is always great to see a st)dent create the roc(et and then for it to ta(eoff" *t has -een an e<citing Octo-er" * wo)ld li(e to than( the PTO for a terrific =alloween Dance> The st)dents had a great time and it was a lot of f)n" The st)dents have greatly en9oyed the 4ed 0o< Days and seeing the 4ed 0o< win the ?orld 0eries" The first grade &)t on a wonderf)l ,all ,estival"

?e are &leased to welcome a new staff mem-er to o)r Pine Glen Comm)nity" @ Amily 4oss, is o)r new &ermanent s)-stit)te teacher" 0he did her st)dent teaching earlier this fall in Mrs" $ynch+s classroom" President's Report Carol McDonald, Co-President of the PTO, anno)nced that the Genevive ,)ndraiser raised over B2C00" The =alloween dance was well attended and tho)gh this is not a f)ndraiser had a &rofit of a-o)t B!00" Treats for the Troo&s was a s)ccess, than( yo) to all the families who donated their left over candy" Ginelle Davidson, Co-President of the PTO, recently attended the 6PTO Meeting" Ginelle too( detailed notes and will &)t the highlights of this meeting on the Pine Glen PTO -log for anyone who wo)ld li(e to review" Co-President's Report Catherine Gillespie, Co-%ice President of the PTO, anno)nced that PTO mem-ershi& has slightly increased from CD to !!D 1the norm is aro)nd E0DF0D3" Catherine highlighted some )&coming eventsG Two ongoing f)ndraisers are the 0C4*P Gift Card Program and 0&iritwear" Orders for the 0&iritwear are d)e on 7ovem-er 1 , 201 with delivery in time for the holidays, 0C4*P orders d)e Decem-er !, 201 " ,ood drive in &rocess to assist the 6)rlington ,ood Pantry, there is large -o<es in the Pine Glen 0chool lo--y for collection, all items are d)e on 7ovem-er 2F, 201 Mar( yo) calendars for ,lat-read PiHHa 7ight on January 7, 2014" ,lat-read will donate a &ortion of all &roceeds to the Pine Glen PTO for anyone who eats in the resta)rant this evening" More details to follow" Over B!00 was raised for the $TC in recent -o< to& s)-missions" Than( yo) to everyone who sent in their -o< to&s" 6o< to& winners were notified and the names were &osted on the Pine Glen PTO -log" Treasurer's Report /drienne Mattson, Treas)rer of the PTO, was &resent at the meeting -)t )na-le to distri-)te the c)rrent PTO -)dget d)e to the meeting -eing off site and no access to a co&y machine" I&dated -)dget re&ort to -e distri-)ted at ne<t meeting"
