Purpose of the Organizational Framework
This document was produced as a guide to assist classroom teachers in the planning and implementation of the 2005Revised Ontario Curriculum, Grades 1-8. Teachers may use their professional judgement to modify this document basedupon the developmental level of students, availability of resources etc.Teachers have found the former Organizational Framework helpful with combined grades. The major and minor foci areidentical for all grades in the Primary and Junior Divisions. Teachers of cross division combined grades (i.e., Gr. 3/4) mayneed to make minor adjustments with some specific expectations. Teachers of a Grade 6/7 grade may wish to exchangethe Measurement and Patterning Strands in Term 1/Term 2).The writers/editors would also like to acknowledge the dedicated team of classrooms teachers that contributed to thedevelopment of this document.
