ADMINISTRATORS REORT
#r& %onanni noted that not only is the reeholder e(8rgani<ation meeting ta$ing  place on )anuary 3, but the =ocational School is holding an e7emplary recognition service that morning from /530 to 11530 a&m& he :nsurance und !ommission9s first meeting of the ne" year is )anuary > at ? p&m&#r& %onanni "ill meet "ith the assignment )udge and Sheriff on )anuary > regarding !ourthouse security& @e than$ed the reeholders "ho too$ the time out of their schedules to attend the employee service a"ards& #r& %onanni sent an update to the reeholder %oard regarding the Ann Street +ar$ing garage& @e "ould li$e to continue that conversation in )anuary&  'o services "ere interrupted during the recent sno" storms& he !ounty staff all "or$ed hard to ma$e sure everything ran smoothly& @e met "ith #s& Leary and #r& D9Agostino to resolve some issues pertaining to roads during the storms& he outcome of the meeting is that the !ounty "ill ta$e over  plo"ing the old oute 24 road"ay, and a different contractor "ill be assigned to  perform the salting& e "ill ta$e a  proactive approach to monitoring that area& Action has been put into place&esolution 'o& 44 is the +%A memorandum of agreement for the Sheriff9s Superior 8fficers Bnit "hich e7tends the contract for three years&

Staff has continued to closely monitor the contracted salting routes and met "ith contractors& !omplaints have gone do"n considerably since the first big storm of the season t"o "ee$s ago&

@e reported that "e are in the process of scheduling the Shared Services meeting& @e revie"ed t"o proposed dates, )anuary / or )anuary 23 at >500 p&m& )anuary 23 "as the  best date for those reeholders attending& reeholder #astrangelo "ill need to loo$ at his calendar to see if he is free on )anuary 23& :f he is, then "e can go for"ard and discuss this date "ith oc$a"ay o"nship& Senator +ennacchio discussed "ith the %oard the purpose of S(3112 "hich "ould help to preserve the remaining *reystone  property that is still o"ned by the State& he proposal is that the remaining 1>? acres "ould be deeded over to the !ounty as ste"ard of this property& @e revie"ed si7  proposals that "ere presented to the State, none of "hich he felt "ere satisfactory use of the property& Some of the reeholders e7pressed concern about remediating the property, "hich is an un$no"n factor at this point&reeholder *rossi felt that if this property "ere developed for commercial use or as residential housing, the road"ays could not handle the traffic, and there "ould be increased need to e7pand the school system in +arsippany "hich "ould be a burden to the to"n& he reeholder %oard concurred to place a support resolution on this evening9s agenda&

@e reported that they have received a response from the DC+ regarding the septic management question& @e suggested that the !ounty touch base "ith the mayors in the preservation district such as ashington "p&, )efferson "p& and 6innelon to ma$e sure the to"ns are on  board "ith the !ounty program&

All the department heads "ished reeholder *rossi the best on her ne" position as !ounty !ler$&#s& %uchanan reported that the old sound system has been removed in the public meeting room& he ne" system is not fully operational at this point&#r& Di*iralomo has met t"ice "ith #r& @iggins, a resident, "ho e7pressed his concern at the last freeholder meeting public  portion regarding possible contamination of  property in )efferson o"nship& @e reported that the millings of old road material ta$en from %er$shire =alley oad are being placed by the contractor in residents9 drive"ays& hey "ill schedule an on(site visit soon&
