Victory Garden plans can be small or large. One popular plan that is trying to encourage schools, communities and businesses to plant a garden is a Patriotic Red White and Blue garden. This plan here is to grow a small garden and to give the produce to a food bank.

One of my favorite things in the summer is being able to pick peas in the spring and tomatoes in the summer and know I can sample the vegetables in the garden. I use no chemicals at all and each year the produce seems to be healthier. I alos uded to hide in the corm stalks! Geat days.... Denise
I love the idea of victory gardens, and in that way you can make sure your food is not sprayed or GMO'D in any way. When I was a child my parents had a garden every summer as we live in Canada. I used to love to hide in the tall corn stalks, and pick the ripest tomatoes, peppers, onions, and lettuce for salads during the hot summer months. Until one day I learned all about hot peppers by biting into one. I did a happy dance for about 1 hour with a burning mouth! Aw..but it was lovely to have such fresh wholesome produce back then and I hope more people grown their own foods throughout the year. Thanks for the great article!!
