TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Definitions:
In this document the following words and phrases havethe meaning set opposite them unless the contextindicates otherwise:•
Bank
refers to Axis Bank Limited, a banking companyincorporated in India under the Companies Act, 1956and having its Registered Office at "TRISHUL", ThirdFloor, Opp. Samartheshwar Temple, Nr. Law Garden,Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad - 380 006, Gujarat, India,including any branch / office thereof. The term includesthe successors and assigns of the Axis Bank Limited.•

is the Bank’s Internet Service, offering thefollowing facilities to the User:Balance enquiry, statement of account, request forissue of cheque book, view personal accountinformation, details of holding / statement of demataccounts and other facilities as the Bank may decide toprovide from time to time like transfer of funds betweenaccounts.•
User
refers to any person who has an account withthe Bank and who has been authorised by the Bank toavail of
i
Connect
.• Account refers to the
User
’s Savings and / or CurrentAccount and / or Fixed Deposit and / or Cash CreditAccount and / or Depository Account and / or any othertype of account so designated by the Bank to becovered under the
i
Connect
facility.• Terms refer to terms and conditions for use of
iConnect
as detailed in this document.
2. Applicability of terms:
• These terms form the contract between the
User
andthe Bank. By applying for
i
Connect
and accessing theservice the
User
acknowledges and accepts theseterms. These terms will be in addition and not inderogation of the terms and conditions relating to anyaccount of the
User
.
3. a) Application for
i
Connect
:• The Bank may extend
i
Connect
facility to selectcustomers at its discretion. The
User
would need to bea current legal Internet user or have access to theInternet and knowledge of how the Internet works. Theregistration form for
i
Connect
may be filled andsubmitted at any of the Bank’s branches Upon receiptof request in the Bank’s prescribed form and subject tothe satisfaction of the eligibility criteria notified by theBank, from time to time, access shall be provided bythe Bank at its discretion through
i
Connect.
The
User
shall not attempt or permit others to attempt accessingthe account information stored in the Bank’s computersthrough any means other than
i
Connect.
The
User
shall not attempt or permit others to attempt accessingthe account information stored in the Bank’s computerswhich does not relate to his or its account and / or forillegal and improper purposes which, if done and proved so, will be liable for action under the appropriatelaw and withdrawal of the facility enjoyed.
b) Instructions:
• All instructions for operating the
i
Connect
facility shallbe given to the
User
by Internet in the manner indicatedby the Bank. The
User
is also responsible for theaccuracy and authenticity of the instructions soprovided to the Bank and the same shall be consideredto be sufficient to operate the
i
Connect
facility. TheBank shall not be required to independently verify theinstructions and the instruction once given is effectiveunless countermanded by further instructions, within ashort span of time. The Bank shall have no liability if itdoes not or is unable to stop or prevent theimplementation of the initial instructions. Where theBank considers the instructions to be inconsistent orcontradictory, it may seek clarification from the
User
ormay act upon any instructions as it may think fit.
4. Software
:• The Bank will advise from time to time the Internetsoftware such as browsers, which are required for using
i
Connect
. There will be no obligation on the Bank tosupport all the versions of these Internet softwares. The
User
shall upgrade his software, hardware and theoperating systems at his cost from time to time and theBank shall be under no obligation to support thesoftware, hardware, operating systems of the
User
andthat the same shall be the sole responsibility of the
User
.
5. Joint Accounts:
• The
User
desirous of availing
i
Connect
should eitherbe the account holder and sole signatory or authorisedto act independently in case of a joint account. For such joint accounts, one
User
ID and Password will beissued to each of the joint account holders whenrequested. The other joint account holders shallexpressly agree with the arrangement and give theirconsent for• All correspondence will be addressed to the mailingaddress. All transactions arising from the use of
i
Connect
in the joint accounts shall be binding on allthe joint account holders, jointly and severally. TheBank shall in no way be liable for any loss / damagewhatsoever that may be incurred or alleged to beincurred by the other joint holder in such an event.
6. Accounts in the names of minors:
• In case of accounts opened for and on behalf ofminors, the natural guardian shall undertake to give allinstructions relating to the operation of the account andfurther undertake not to reveal the
User
ID andPassword to the minor, which if done so will be at therisk and consequences of the guardian and the Bankshall not be liable for any loss on that account in case ifthe account is operated by the minor. In such an eventthe transaction will be deemed to have beenundertaken by the guardian.
7. Security:
• The Bank shall take reasonable care to ensure thesecurity of and prevent unauthorised access to the
i
Connect
service using technology reasonablyavailable to the Bank.
8. Password:
• The
User
accepts and unconditionally agrees to thefollowing:i) Upon approval of the accountholder’s application, thecustomer will be allotted a
Login
ID and Password toaccess the
i
Connect
facility.ii) If the pin mailer reaches the customer in a tampered / damaged condition, the Bank will be forthwithcontacted.iii) On accessing
i
Connect
for the first time, the
User
shall change the Password assigned by the Bankthrough the relevant option. The
User
is at liberty tochange the Password as many number of times aspossible at his risk and consequences. The
User
will besolely responsible for maintaining secrecy of thePassword, so changed, and the Bank in no way shallbe responsible for the misuse of the said Password byany person other than the authorised
User.
iv) The Bank does not assume any responsibility in thisbehalf including against loss incurred by the
User
as aresult of misuse / unauthorised use of
User
ID / Password.v) In case the
User
forgets the Password, a newPassword may be obtained from the Bank against awritten request. Such replacements shall not beconstrued / deemed as the commencement of newcontract. In such an event the Bank shall provide thenew Password within a reasonable period. However, tillsuch time no transactions could be effected.
9. Charges:
• The Bank reserves the right to charge and recoverfrom the
User,
charges, if any, fixed for providing anyservice under
i
Connect
facility. The
User
herebyauthorises the Bank to recover the service charges bydebiting one of the accounts of the
User
or by sendinga bill to the
User
who will be liable to make the paymentwithin a specified period. Failure to do so shall result inrecovery of the service charges by the Bank in amanner deemed fit along with interest, if any, and / or
