Building a home bar is a dream for many of us. In fact if you are readingthis report, you most likely have had that dream from time to timethroughout your life. But, you just may not have the deep pockets it takesto make your home bar look like it does in your dreams.Or do you?You
d be surprised how easy it is to save yourself money putting yourhome bar together. Countertops and cabinets
don’
t have to be hard to build and the rest of the bar can be put together with inexpensive items. If you have any carpentry skills at all, you can build most of your baryourself. But in case you don
t have any carpentry skills, there are somehidden places where you can find some help getting your bar built for youfor the least amount of money possible. Here
s a list of a few ideas I
ve been able to come up with over the years:

Hidden Experts in Carpentry
Your local high school: If you call your local high school, they can eitherdirect you to the carpentry department in whatever name they have atthat particular school or they can get you in contact with the vocationaltechnology department of that school. I may be dating myself, but back inmy day they were two separate things. They may have been joined bynow. But, a student taking carpentry classes might be a great hand to helpyou build your bar. They would have fresh knowledge of carpentry skillsand it might be possible to arrange the project for extra credit at theschool.Laborers in the local newspaper: You
d be surprised how many out ofwork carpenters there might be in this world today. Look through thelocal newspaper in the classifieds section under Situations Wanted orsome other such section where people are advertising themselves andtheir own skills. They can be hired at a reduced rate. Just a get a fewquotes and then call back the person you feel would best suit you andyour needs.

Friends and Family: There are carpenters or people with those skills in just about every family. Ask the people you know.Local Hardware Store: In just about every hardware store I have ever been, I have been able to find books detailing how to build just abouteverything. From putting on a new roof to building yourself a new porch, you can always find a book to help you with your project.
