A. Yes, there wag.
¢ Bo you know what the results were?
AL All negative.
Q. Ave you aware of perhape any medications
that ane may have bear taking er seeing a doctor for
any particular condition?
AL from the reports, there was indications
that she took some type of antidepressant.
MR. O/NBIL: Okay. Steve, did you ever see
those medications?
AUDIENCE MBMBSR: Yeah, she alsa took a little
antiansiety, Xanax, a generic form of Xanax also.

MR, O'NEIL: Was she seeing a doetar for that
condition, Steve?

AUDIENCE MEMBER: 1 doz
MR. O/NEIL: They're prescription medications,
she probably would have had to go somewhere?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: At one time, I believe, but ft
believe, you know, you make a phone call, they renew
it. 1 believe.

o Any ingurance, big insurance policies
thar Trew would aave been able to profit by that
you're aware of?
A. None that I'm aware of
MR, O'NEIL: Any financial gain, any insurance
policy?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: Yes, there was actually a
very large, it was a hundred -- Brew tock out a
hundred thousand doliar policy She also had a one
million dollar policy that I'm not sure if he knew
that she had changed. Me was the original
beneficiary. she did change it to -- down the road
ro put her boyo, plug her equity in the house, which
was worth a little over 300,000. Tt was paid for.
But he waa trying to claim the whole house on joint

tenancy, which should have been hers. it was pretty
much a deal that wae cut between them. Yeah, 0
there was a lot of financial gain.
MR. O'NEIL: $0 the boys, they stand to inherit
a millien dellars on a life insurance policy?
Well, if they get everything

that she should have gotten in the diverce, probably
close to 1.5.
MR, O'NEILL: The boys?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: Well, right now, Put we don’t
know. I took hin to court because he tried to claim
everything, and = wanted everything frozen until
thio was done and wanted the diverce to procead and
everything, All proceeds from the diverce I wanted
put in trust for the boys, but he’s fighting ne
He'a trying to claim it, so that's undetermined yet.
MR. O/NEIL: What did he right now -- what does
he have to gain as a result of ker death?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: He wants the whcle house,
wanted to be named executor of the aseets, which
means he would have controlled the one million
@oliar policy, and plus he also took out a separate
policy himself on her, the one hundred thousand. He
said he wanted te sell her heuse, pay his off, and
open a bar, That's what he said at the wake anyway,
MR. O' NEIL: You saw this insurance policy?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: I talked te the company. f
talked to the agent
MR. O'NEIL: Did you tell the police about that
policy?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: Called and left messages,
nobody ever called me back, It’s Old Republic
Insurance.
AUDIENCE MEMBER: We were never questioned by
the state police.
MR, O'NEIL: I saw a réport in the coroner's
that you called and we had asked you te contact
them,
AUDIENCE MEMBER: Yes
MR. O/NEIL: Did you talk to them?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: No, I didn’t. Well, actually
I called them myself to find out what was happening
as far aa the investigation, what was going on, and
they would just, you know, you know, talk to me.
MR. O’NEIL: You did talk to them?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: Yes.

Q. Were there any signs of any break-in or
anything?
A No, there was not.
Q Any weapons discovered, blunt force-type
weapons, anything found?
zB No, there was not.
Q. Any signs of a struggle in the residence,
in other parts of the house?
I know she had this laceration on the
back of her head. Does it appear as though her
death occurred right im the tub?
A. Yes, it did.
Q. Right there?
Even where the laceration occurred,
it would have bled if dt occurred ia ancther part of
the house?
A Yes, it would have.
Q. Did you find any signs of fcul play
during the course of your investigation?
AL No, sir, we did not.
a. Special Agent Hardy, I'm going to ask you
to summarize the police investigation, if you could,
please, and what revealed as to how Kathleen Savio
came to her death. You may need to repeat some of
your prioxy testimony or you may need to add some

portions that you felt perhaps I failed co ask you.
TE you could summarize it for the
jury, please.
A. Okay. On March 2nd, approximately
midnight, we were notified by the Solingbrock Police
Department of a death investigation of a death that
occurred at 392 Pheasant Chase Drive. We were also
told that the person, the deceased individual. &
er
husband wag a sergeant on the Belingbrook Police
Department, and they asked us for our assistance in
this investigation, at which time we did respond.
A couple of eur agents reeponded
initially to it, did thedy investigation, at which
time they called out crime scene techs who processed
the scene, And after that was completed, Kathleen
was removed from the residence and transported to
the -- to the county morgue.
At that time our investigation
continued, at which time we spoke to all the
neighbors in the general vicinity. We spoke te the
boyfriend, we talked to the x-husband.
Q You spoke to the X-husband’s wife, too,
correct, his new wife?
A. Yes, one of our agents did, yes. 1
