Senator Van de Putte to Speak at LULAC 402s 50th Anniversary Banquet

Houston, TX Texas State Senator Leticia Van de Putte will speak Monday evening, February 10, 2014, at LULAC Council 402s 50th Anniversary Banquet at Bradys Landing, 8505 Cypress, Houston, TX 77012. LULAC Council 402 is having its Annual Scholarship Banquet to raise monies in order that disadvantaged youth can get scholarship money to go to college. Senator Van de Putte will be the Keynote Speaker in place of Congressman Joaquin Castro who was scheduled earlier, but had to cancel due to an important vote in the House on Monday. Senator Van de Putte is a 24 year veteran of the Texas House and Senate who has distinguished herself as one of the leading Texas legislators, having been chosen as one of the 10 Best Texas Legislators by Texas Monthly in 2013. Senator Van de Putte is currently running for the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Texas in the 2014 elections.
