Increasing space between lines is generally A Good Thing. All sizes, however, should be relative, not absolute. One never knows when one's visitors are vision-impaired.

Methinks you meant "to improve legibility" rather than readability. Readability has to do with sentence structure, word choice, and such. Legibility has to do with appearance.
