Dermot Michael “Pat” O'Neil was a Shanghai Municipal Policeman and member of the Riot Squad in the 20’s and 30’s under Fairbairn’s tutelage, a disciple of both Japanese and Chinese martial arts, trains at the Kodokan under Tatsukuma Ushijima. In ’38 he headed the security detail for the British ligation and undoubtedly trained some more. He eventually made it to America during the war, at the special request of W. E.
