    Dressing a Salad
    1. Purpose/ Aim/ Question: What are the different problems and obstacles you can encounter while making your own salad dressing? 2. Introduction What better way to eat a salad than with dressing? There are many different types of dressings, from salty to sweet, and spicy to sour. But if you dont feel like getting a store bought dressing, why not make your own? That is the basis of the experiment that I tried. 3. Hypothesis

    I believe that I can make an ok garlicky salad dressing using only the materials assigned to me and my own creativity. I dont think that it will turn out very well because Ive never made a salad dressing before. 4. Materials 1. Salad oil 2. Cider or wine vinegar 3. Sugar 4. Garlic powder 5. Onion powder 6. Basil 7. Salt 8. Measuring spoons 9. Spoon 10. Plastic Jar 11. Paper towels

    5. Procedure Trial 1. Insert 1 tbsp of salad oil 2. Insert 1/2 a tsp of balsamic vinegar 3. Insert 1/8 tsp of garlic powder

    4. Insert 1/16 tsp of onion powder 5. Insert 1/32 tsp of basil 6. Insert 1/32 tsp of Salt 7. Mix 8. Taste Trial 2 1. Same as Trial 1 but 1/4 tsp of balsamic vinegar instead of 1/2 a tsp 2. Mix 3. Taste Trial 3 1. Same as Trial 2 but 3/8 tsp of balsamic vinegar instead of 1/4 a tsp, and 1/16 tsp of sugar 2. Mix 3. Taste Trial 4 1. Quadruple the amount of everything 2. Mix 3. Taste 6. Results

    7. Data Analysis/ Discussion The composition and proportions of the dressing should be researched. Next time I should use an ingredient that mixes everything really well, like mustard.

    8. Conclusion In conclusion, I think that recipe books are there for a reason. My garlicky salad dressing was fine, but the proportions of each ingredient were not the usual ones because I didnt know what they were. Before making a salad dressing, you should at least look at other successful ones and practice making them before trying to make your own.
