On August 16 1896, Gold was foundall over Rabbit Creek, which laterwas named Bonanza Creek in Yukon-regionby Skookum, Jim Mason, and Tagish,along with George Carmack. The goldwas found all over the place. Moststakeholders became wealthy. They werelater on known as the Klondike Kings.Eleven months after the discovery of thegold, The Portland Steamship had arrivedback in Seattle from Dawson, Yukon,and was pronounced that they had found"over a ton of gold." After the news of this,the Klondike Gold Rush was on! Peoplefrom everywhere had gone after the gold. The news of the gold was spread everywehrewithin a year. Around 100,000 gold-seekerscame to Yukon in search for the gold. But,only 30,000 were lucky enough to achievetheir goals. Many were found dead or hadgiven up. The NWMP (North WestMounted Police)had required thegold-seekers to have a year`s worthof supplies.
