The DuSable Museum presents The Trillion Dollar Question, a symposium on economic empowerment for the African American community. This timely discussion is inspired by findings exposed in The State of the African American Consumer, a recent consumer report by The Nielsen Company, which revealed that the buying power of African Americans is expected to reach $1.1 trillion by 2015! This dynamic program seeks to go beyond just an intellectual discussion, as there will be a keen focus on concrete solutions and specific actions to address the challenge of empowering the African American community economically.Panelists will include solution-oriented, financial leaders who not only understand the theory of economic empowerment, but are also practicing the principles in their highly successful businesses and personal lives.

740 East 56th Place Friday, February 3, 2012 10 AM Noon A collection of Chuch Ds personal artifacts will be on display in the Bust Gallery of The DuSable Museum from February 2 - February 29, 2012 Chuck D helped to create politically and socially conscious rap music in the mid-1980s as the leader of the award-winning rap group, Public Enemy. Most recently Chuck D became involved in Let Freedom Sing: The Music of the Civil Rights Movement, a 3-CD box set from Time Warner. He wrote the introduction to the liner notes and is visiting colleges across the nation discussing the significance of the set. Hes also set to appear in a follow up film entitled, Let Freedom Sing: The Music That Inspired the Civil Rights Movement.
