Description Year This is the highest-ever IR given to its employees by the state government so far. This bonanza benefiting the 950,000. The employees will be getting more than 50 per cent hike in their salaries from January 2014 itself due to this liberal pay hike, according to a back-of-theenvelop calculation made by employee associations. The move will have additional financial burden of Rs. 7,681 crore for full year. 2013 The APSRTC employees unions, which were all set to go for an indefinite strike over the interim relief issue from Sunday midnight, relented and withdrew the call for strike, following the success of talks with the management. State-run Coal India has agreed in principle to increase wages of workers by 25 per cent, a move that will cost the company around Rs 4,000 crore extra. The hike is from the level of June, 2011. This will benefit about 3.7 lakh workers. At present, Coal India and its subsidiaries spend about Rs 20,000 crore annually on salary of workers which is roughly over 40 per cent of the cost of production.
