time, we have come too far towait for stretched hands or sup-port from an unknown foreignsource or anyone else but our-selves.

We are the primary stake-holder of CWA and it is time weacted as that

. Whatever changewe wish for CWA can only beattained from and by us.I agree, much is lost but not all.Over the next few months, wewill embark on a series of ambi-tious projects to give our asso-ciation the leverage to changeand influence the course ofCWA.

Fellow Foxes,Over a hundred and fiftyyears ago, a benevolent mis-sionary named Melville B.Cox envisioned and startedthe institution we have cometo know today as the Collegeof West Africa

our dear andbeloved Alma Mater.We are proud to boast ofPresidents, Judges, Ambassa-dors, Diplomats, BusinessExecutives, Economists, Law-yers, International workersand many more that have satin the memorable halls of theFoxes Den. Unfortunately,today our beloved Alma Ma-ter has fallen on hard times,from its place of excellence toan almost minimum irrele-vance. Debt has piled up to itsneck, salaries are in arrearsand the threat of losing theschool, its history and reputa-tion looms every forthcomingday.

What is most sad is thatthere is no benevolent missionary(named Melville) to save thisinstitution from its fall.

How-ever, when I look further, I seemany more that have bene-fited from the sacrifice of Un-

On September 12, 2009, the DCMetro Area Chapter elected itsnew corps of officers. Two-year Technology Program

This program will help distin-guish our students from theirpeers by arming them with gen-eral computer skills and electivespecific knowledge as well asbuild valuable skills in researchand presentation.

Basic Science Laboratory

In addition to setting CWAapart, this will help studentsprepare for the challenging re-gional exams and improve ourstanding amongst peer/competitors.

Music program

The music program will bringback the flare and fun we allknew and enjoyed.It is important to note that likeour Association, the school oper-ates almost entirely on tuition,with no other permanent fund-ing source.
