Ex. 23:25-30 - You shall serve the Lord...He will bless your bread andwater. I will take sickness away from your midst...I will fulfill thenumber of your days. I will send my fear before you. I will causeconfusion among all the people to whom you come. I will make allyour enemies turn their backs to you. I will send hornets before youwhich will drive out the Hittite, Canaanite... before you. I will not drivethem out in one year...lest the beasts of the field overtake you.I remember reading this vs. along time ago. Its int'g. When I readthis, it didn't mean much to me. I began to und. it yrs. later. This isGod speaking to Moses. Moses had been up and down Mt. Sainai 3 or 4times. He would go up and leave the priests and elders down the mtn.Eventually, he went up for 40 days. When he didn't return, we knowwhat happened. The people built a calf and worshipped it.In this time, God speaks to Moses. He said, little by little I will driveout your enemies before you. If we take this word, little = moment bymoment or step by step. It makes me think of Ezra 9:8, God has givena little space of grace. A little moment. In Uganda we have a radioprogram called, Grace Moments. We never knew how long we'd be on.Sometimes we were on for 30 seconds and the power would go out.Just a moment.Connected to this was a promise given to Joshua, 1:3, wherever thesoul of your foot shall tread, I will give it to you. God said, As I waswith Moses, I will be with you. LIttle by little, moment by moment Goddrives out our enemies.Our plan would be, we get saved, and we are immed. in heaven. InGods' mind, that is. We have a Sp. that can never be lost or changed.THe HS comes into us. THen, little by little, moment by moment, stepby step process begins.Right before this, God lists a numb. of countries. In vs 28, he mentions3. Look at this: the Hivvites = a villager. No offense. It means SMALL.He mentions Caananite = a peddler. It is used as one who sells orpeddles something when they are not honest. THey sell yousomething, a magical cure...like snake oil. It will take care of anything.In Africa, this is everywhere...Don't ever ask them how much anythingcosts. You'll not get rid of them.

Hittites = terrorizer. Think of this. These rep. the flesh, the world, andthe devil. The Hivvite = the flesh. Adam, the OSN is small time, yet hecan influence and destroy us. He is not even, if we are Sp. filled, he isdead. He has no voice or vote. At the same time, he must be drivenout, step by step, moment by moment. It takes time.God says, I'm not going to remove your flesh and the OSN from youthe moment you get saved.The Caananite = the World, the peddler. The world thinks they havethe solution. Just stay up late and watch TV...All the junk they areselling...it doesn't work. Its snake oil. They peddle something to you tosolve your problem. You buy something and get 10 more problems.Then, they ahve 10 more solutions for you. The world has nothing tooffer us.God says, step by step, little by little, I'll drive out the world. When wegot saved, how much the world influenced us. When I got saved, wentto Bible college, there was no TV in the dorms. THen, I went on themission field and had no TV. For 7 years, I had no clue about anythingon TV. I knew nothing about anyone famous...what washappening...God drives out the world, step by step, little by little.Hittities = the terroists, Satan, the devil, the father of lies. The onewho constantly projects himself to be bigger than he really is. Isa 14,we will all observe the white throne judgment. When Lucifer is broughtup, we all say, is that the one who terroized the world...him...youmust be kidding me. He causes people to live in fear. He infiltrates themind...and causes people to live in fear. James 4 tells us how the fleshis deliverd. THen, it tells us how we are delivered from the world.THen, when we are humble the devil flees from us.God told them that he would send hornets before them. I was huntingonce...I was in this thicket...I tried to sneak up on deer. All thesudden, I stepped on a ground hornets nest. All the sudden...I heardbuzzzz...zzzz. They went up my pant legs. I was stung...all over.Hornets are nasty.Think of this. They sting. What happens. If you are in the middle of them, you will get stung. There are times when the hornets sting us.Things happen in our life that sting. We didn't see that coming. Thingswill hurt us. Sometimes a hornet is a person, a circumstance, thatstings and hurts us. God sent it. Its not to injure us, but to drive outour enemies: the flesh, the world, the devil. God ordained things inour lives, that we are not going to like naturally. He sends it, and it

stings us when we don't expect it.Our finances, our health. God uses it to drive out the enemies. Godsaid, I'm taking my time to do this. For some, it will be four years.Others 40 years. We had the face to face service here for PastorMurphy. When he was here, his Spirit was deliverd, but his soul andbody wasn't. Now, his soul and body are delieved, Its not until theRapture that his body will also be delivered.God said, I'm going to do this step by step, little by little. I thought of this: we become overwhelmed...Its basket ball tornament time...Whathappens? When listening to one coach, he was asked, how do you getyour team to focus. He said, simple. Your looking at a field of 64teams. I reduce it. There are 4 areas that this will take place. I'm onlyin one. I only need to play 6 teams. We eliminate 58 teams already.WE don't have to play them. We only focus on what's before us.When we get saved, we look at us. WE are overwhelmed with what'sgoing on. God says, don't look at the next 50 years of life...what's thecall of God, the will of God. Deal with this moment, right now. Go littleby little. One step at a time. God will drive out our enemies before us,one step at a time. One hornet sting at a time. Just break it down. Onesimple little step. God takes his time, a life time. Why? So the land,and pict. ourselves as the land...so the land doesn't become wild. Godcultivates us a little at a time. If he drives out all the enemies,passivity and laziness sets in.Its a time of war for Kings, but we just sit there...and we'll seeBathsheba. The other reason is, bec. beasts will come in. There is onebig enemy that we have. God can't deal with it. Its pride. We getdelivered, then we all the sudden say, look what I did. I used to be likethis...I've changed. We take credit for soemthing we don't deserve. Itsmore than the bear or lion we face as David. Its pride that can destroyus all. So, God does this little by little to keep us humble...dependingon him, knowing its him doing the work he began, Phil. 1:6. He willaccomplish teh work. He's the author and finisher of our faith. He doesthe work, and takes us through slowly.Look at James 4, the 3 enemies...its int'g how God raps it all up bysaying, I'll give grace to the humble...more grace to the humble. If one is proud, I will oppose them. I set a military stance against them.I can't look at them.Where does pride come from? Lucifer. He said, I'll be like the mosthigh. God is still delivering us.
