On a map or globe you can find directions on the compass rose. Each letter on the compassstands for a direction; N = north, S = South, E = East, W = West. To help you remember thedirections think of your head as north, your feet as south, your left hand as west, and your rights hand as east.The globe is a small model of the Earth. A model is a small copy of something that is bigger.The earth is not smooth and flat like a sheet of paper - it is round. We live on the Earth. Allthe blue areas on the globe are water and the green areas are land. The world is divided into7 large pieces of land called continents: North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia,Australia, and Antarctica.
