Fellow Democrats - I am running to be your Lt. Governor because, like my friend Wendy Davis, I believe that Texas is at crossroads. Now is our time to put forth serious leaders with a progressive vision for how Texas can do better and with the experience to implement it. We have a leader like that in Hugh Fitzsimons III who is running for Texas Commissioner of Agriculture. Hugh is a 3rd generation rancher who works the same South Texas land his grandfather did during the Great Depression. He converted the family cattle business into a grass-fed, sustainable bison operation because he believed it was the right thing to do for the land and the consumers of Texas. His campaign is gaining momentum with endorsements from The Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, Austin Chronicle, the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, Texas League of Conservation Voters, former Agriculture Commissioner Jim Hightower and more. However, he still needs our help to make sure that he wins this primary election. Hugh is a statewide leader in the organic farm-to-table movement and a respected voice on issues around climate change and water conservation. Hugh is a visionary and has a plan for how we can better support family farms, conserve water in agricultural production and move organic Texas produce into Texas public schools. I am supporting Hugh Fitzsimons because he is the serious and thoughtful leader that we deserve. Today I am asking you to please support Hugh and ask your Democratic friends to do the same on March 4th. On to Victory! Sen. Leticia Van de Putte PS - Please support Hugh Fitzsimons for Texas Agriculture Commission in the Democratic primary. Learn more about him atwww.HughForTexas.comand make sure and forward this on to all of your friends who will be voting in the March 4 primary as well.
