Es activista antiespecista. Actualmente trabaja como investigador en el Departamento de Filosofíade la Universidad de Rutgers, en Nueva Jersey. Anteriormente fue profesor de filosofía moral en laUniversidad de Santiago de Compostela. También ha sido portavoz y coordinador enorganizaciones como Derechos para los Animales o Alternativa para la Liberación Animal.
