UPDATE: This document has been revised for minor spelling/format/syntax errors, for American English, and appropriate corrections.
Update completed and uploaded: 10th October 2009 (Same day as original document).

This document was composed & published 10th October 2009.

A refutation to the youtube video series of William Albrecht, an Apologist for the Catholic Legate, on his refutation against the Siri Thesis.

This is in regards to the Siri Thesis which claims that Cardinal Siri was elected Pope, and named Pope Gregory XVII in 1958. That of which under the greatest duress he resigned. However some argue that his resignation was invalid, therefore remaining true Pope till his death in 1989. The Siri Thesis also holds that all Popes from John XXIII to Pope John Paul II were antipopes or invalidly elected. It makes no mention of Pope Benedict XVI as it was presumably published before his election.

Introduction
This work is a short response to the refutation made by William Albrecht against the SiriThesis, in which his videos concerning this matter have been closely examined, criticallyanalyzed and deeply evaluated, leading to the appropriate rebuttals, responses anddirections made in this document.I, the writer, have made no intention to support the Siri Thesis in this response, but rather  provide critical responses to the quality and worth of William’s arguments, as theyappeared, upon viewing, to be in so much in need of. I hope that this document will provoke a more serious and accurate overview of the Siri Thesis, in which argumentsfrom either side be presented more soundly, and also with proper backing and evidentialsupport. On another note, revealing why I wrote this, it was because I was simply not impressednor convinced thoroughly enough by William’s refutation, and am seeking some greater scholarly contribution to this debate which will make such issues conclusive and bringthem to an appropriate end.Personally, I do not like scandals, however until the truth of this matter is fully resolved, without a doubt and with all claims settled, and all errors corrected, I will remain in astate of search and enquiry, for the truth shall surely make me free. This work indeed will ‘stir the waters’ somewhat, however, such heavy things musteventually settle.
Outline Format:
Each video has been given its own response in relation to the arguments stated in each. These individual responses contain headers to the actual amount of refutations validlymade. There is a particular format adopted within the document to frame proper responses andto place commentaries in an ordered context.

A Note to William,If you examine your arguments presented in the videos overall, there is only one that isabsolute, a few that are suggestive, and the rest are lacking in citation or basis. The unfortunate fact is that during your refutation of the Siri Thesis, as your videos aretitled, you did not actually target the Siri Thesis directly in full, as to debate all its particular claims. What you have done instead is deviated to alternate sources wherein theclaim of the Siri Thesis was neither completely disputed, but points challenged andmerely touched upon. The Siri Thesis is not just about Cardinal Siri, but contains so many more points thatwere totally neglected. At multiple times, you attempted to refute the Popeinred.com,which contrary to the name of videos, may have seemed somewhat relevant, however this brought into the debate aspects that were simply not relevant to this refutation, such asyour interpretation of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich’s vision. The videos wereriddled which much logical fallacies, with generalizations, with insincere remarks(concerning Fr. Khoat and Cardinal Siri – regarding his pains & sufferings in particular),and other undesirables not suited in the context of a formal debate (refutation).I’m not sure what to make of your videos on an academic level, nevertheless I do acceptit as an honest attempt to challenge the Siri Thesis. But, if someone asked me if thesevideos were indeed a “refutation” of the Siri Thesis, I would have to say ‘No’.Why? Because the Siri Thesis was not actually deconstructed point by point – reducing itto its fundamental arguments – then refuting it, in these videos. What seems rather to bethe case was that you may have read it, then read other alternate sources, then assumed anentirely independent thought of what the Siri Thesis actually was, then from this refutedthat particular creation. What I had originally hoped was that you would have refuted theSiri Thesis as it presented itself, understood for what the Siri Thesis holds, and not for what others hold or don’t hold for it. Nonetheless, nothing lost, however, by the grace of God may our understanding of this be brought to that perfect clarity, who is Christ.God bless.

... that Siri had the majority 2 or 3 times but refused the papacy every time. Not that he refused them twice and was forced out the 3rd time. Well, this response fits with every Sirianist utterance. Flimsy arguments that fall apart at the first ray of sunlight. Intellectual dishonesty at its worst. Shame on them!

... 58, 63 and 78) but refused the papacy. Even if this claim were 100% true (and one has to be really credulous to believe that this occured multiple times rather than rumor mongers being unable to decide which conclave they should place their story) it is dishonest to make this into "Siri refused the papacy twice but he did not do so the 3rd time). MMartin clearly intends to say that ....

... dishonest. What is true is that at least in 1978 Siri seems to have taken a critical attitude towards the Council. But he accepted in nonetheless and hence his criticism (true or false) did not lead him into schism with Mother Church. The respondent's intellectual dishonesty shows further when he realted MMartin, who claimed that Siri had a majority in 2, maybe 3 conclaves (which means ...

... i.e. Successors to Peter - there is no other pope in the Church today) is relegated to a "mere outward" deference. Well, it is true that one cannot necessarily tell the inside from the outside but since there is no evidence to suggest a different inside (not even as with Lefebrve a later disavowal of the council or a turn to schism) to that outward appearance, this again is intellectual ...

... supprted radtradism in public, you suppose he must have done so in private. That's cheating your way out of the fact that there's not a shred of evidence to support the Sirianist view, least of all in Siri himself. This cheating continues when Siri's signature to Vatican II, his accepting posts from his supposed anti-popes, his accepting them as popes (and that means "Roman Popes" ...

Reading this response, I started with an open-mindend, positive attitude, since I see some problems with gnr's presentation too. However, I soon realised that this response is so below intellectual honesty that I take it serious anymore. Most of its argument boil down to adding a "in public" disclaimer to any of Siri's actions cited by gnr. Sorry, but that's a cop-out. Since Siri never ...
