Invitation For Public Comment
Philip Farha (CWCH Parent) – Proposed agreement runs counter to original spirit and particular to original licensing agreement and doesn’t consider the local school’s contribution – parents can’t support agreement as it stands – would like it to include reserving right to request amendment in the future and complain to LAUSD about this Marc Yeber (CWCSL Parent) – long time planning commissioner – notice and timing of this meeting – the time slot chosen seems peculiar – past two meetings – normal public process as outlined in the Brown Act – concerned decisions are being made without input from the public. Samantha Johnston – reiterate what Philip said, general appreciate the effort invested to come to agreement, virtually impossible to find CWCH parents who agrees with this agreement – talented group of attorneys, et. – goal should be aligned between board and parents – climate of community and good of school Jennifer Deines (CWCH Parent)– writing letter to Mr. Minney – may recall governing difficulties – governance issues persist despite training on PRA and Brown Act – concerns about posting, board meetings scheduled with urgent action scheduled for a time when parents can’t join meeting – attached – attaching PRAs – widespread parent concern – offer follow up training Francesca McElhatten (Braddock ES parent) – here at request of parents in NY – letter to Tom Nichols and LAUSD Superintendent and Board and CWCLA Board – understand there is a contemplated agreement – 100% parent led grass roots agreement – 700 strong – letter to NY CWC Board, State senators, city council – called for investigation – misrepresented that a  partnership had already been approved in LA – licensing agreement in perpetuity, CMO services  provided by independent contractor, sole membership unusual between two non profits, pitched before aware, no safeguards in place, CWC National, CWCLA and CWCNY in violation of public meeting laws, CWC National enforces non disclosure agreements on employees none of NDAs mentioned in charters. Demand not coming from schools but from National for the licensing agreement. Jennifer Deines (CWCH Parent) – Extensive research on this, aware of how it’s rolled out, when  papers submitted and bylaws went into effect, procedural missteps, go forward with this, solidifies intent, hidden intent, well documented, moral and fiduciary duty to Board and school – hate to see anything go down that’s uncomfortable for the board or school

Item tabled pending further input/clarification from LAUSD on the proposed agreement and/or side letter.
