Many children are intimidated by math and I was one of them. This is a great guide to help your child gain a genuine interest in this Universal Language.

HELPING YOUR CHILD LEARN MATHWITH ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AGED 5 TO 13

Foreword
"Why?"This is the question we parents are always trying to answer. It's good that children ask questions: that's the best way tolearn. All children have two wonderful resources forlearning -- imagination and curiosity. As a parent, you canawaken your children to the joy of learning by encouraging theirimagination and curiosity.'Helping Your Child Learn math' is one in a series of books ondifferent education topics intended to help you make the most of your child's natural curiosity. Teaching and learning are notmysteries that can only happen in school. They also happen whenparents and children do simple things together. For instance, you and your child can: sort socks on laundry day-- sorting is a major function in math and science; cook a mealtogether -- cooking involves not only math and science but goodhealth as well; tell and read each other stories -- storytellingis the basis for reading and writing (and a story about the pastis also history); or play a game of hopscotch together -- playingphysical games will help your child learn to count and start on aroad to lifelong fitness.By doing things together, you will show that learning is fun andimportant. You will be encouraging your child to study, learn, and stay in school. This book will give you a short rundown on facts, but the biggestpart of the book is made up of simple, fun activities for you andyour child to do together. Your child may even beg you to dothem."The first teachers are the parents, both by example andconversation. But don't think of it as teaching. Think of it asfun."So, let's get started. I invite you to find an activity in thisbook and try it.
