General guidelines on expenses is availableHERE Motor Travel RatesThe following motor travel rates apply for travel in Ireland to eligible staff with effectfrom 1st July 2007. These rates are the standard Civil Service motor travel rates andarrangements. Please use these rates on all claims for motor travel after 1st July 2007.The Accounts Department require a copy of your current vehicle registrationcertificate in order to apply the relevant rate. If you have not submitted a copy of current registration certificate to date, please forward to T&E section.If your car clocks in miles only, please use the conversion

Subsistence - Ireland -
Subsistence allowances are payable when members of staff are absent on business at alocation (other than your place of work) more than 5 kms from base or home whichever is closer. Subsistence allowances are payable on the basis of lengthof time that a member of staff is on official business in each 24-hour period from thetime of departure. Please use the rates below for all expense claims from 1st July2007.
Ireland
The current subsistence rates, which apply to
all staff 
on business in Ireland, are asfollows:

This can be claimed when a business trip takes more than 10hours to complete, or when overnight accommodation in ahotel is also claimed €33.61
Partial Dayabsence(> 5 and < 10hrs.)
This can be claimed for a >5hr but < 10-hour absenceirrespective of the time of day or whether or not meal costs areincurred. The absence must be at a location, which is atleast 5kms from base or home. €13.71
Notes:
 
Subsistence does not apply when travelling between the Agencies officelocations in Dublin or when business is less than 5kms from home or base.
In the case where a Level D (Future scale) staff member and below istravelling with a more senior staff member the higher rate will apply.
Subsistence does not apply to stays at hotels which are paid for by the agency.
Taxable elements of subsistence have been discontinued from 5th March2009.
Changes to Distance Requirements
With effect from 1st July 2007 anovernight allowancewill not generallybe payable for an absence within a distance of 48.27km from a staff member's home or base.
 
Subsistence - Overseas
A single set of tax-free subsistence rates apply to
all staff 
for business travel outsideof Ireland. The rates are based on Civil Service rates and are available onTravel &Expenses 2008 and on Oracle.
Representation Allowance
A Representation Allowance of €60 per day can be claimed by all Ireland-based staff who travel overseas (excluding UK). A guide on the circumstances in which arepresentation allowance can be claimed are set out in the guidelines document insection 1 of this page. This allowance is subject to tax and PRSI.
