WORLD DISABILITIES DAY CELEBRATIONS 3rd December, 2013 Ashray Akruti celebrated its annual event World disabilities

s day on 3rd December, 2013 at RNR Auditorium, Banjara Hills to raise awareness about the hearing impairment and bring home the message of equality between children with and without disability. The Chief Guest for the morning ceremony was Sri. Mahesh Bhagwat,IPS (IGP-Security Intelligence) and the Chief Guest for the evening event was Ms. Rekha Rani (Additional joint collector). The highlights of the event were Science Exhibition for Special Children and Art exhibition by hearing impaired children. Principal Mrs. A. Sashikala, and teachers Mrs. Kalpana and care taker Mrs. Kamala were felicitated at the event for their dedicated 10years service at Ashray Akruti. WORLD DISABILITIES DAY CELEBRATIONS BY DISABLED WELFARE Disabled Welfare of A.P celebrated World disability day at Ravindra Bharathi which was graced by the Honorable Chief Minister of A.P Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy. Hearing impaired children of Ashray Akruti performed folk dance which was applauded by one and all. MULTIMEDIA AND ANIMATION TRAINING CENTRE FOR HEARING IMPAIRED Ashray Akruti has started the second batch in multimedia and animation training for the hearing impaired youth. The course duration is 6 months which includes theory classes, English and sign language class and practicals. Guest lectures are also arranged from prospective employers. Special training is given to hearing impaired students from Telugu medium back ground. The purpose of this initiative is to train the hearing impaired youth in market oriented courses, to the requirement of the employer and place them in those Organizations. Ashray Akruti Multimedia and Animation Center successfully ran its first course in the year 2010-2012 after which 12 hearing impaired students were placed in various Multimedia Companies like Dreams Inc., Film restoration etc. The Course is offered free of cost. ACCENTURE EVENT AT YAKATPURA CENTER Accenture volunteers lead by Ms.Sana, Mr.Sudhir, MR.Mohid and Mr.Shivram donated a computer, printer and scanner. All the students of Y akatpura branch were given uniforms, shoes and socks. Volunteers also served the children special meals on that day. COGNIZANT OUTREACH TALENT HUNT 11 hearing impaired children of Ashray Akruti performed Mime at Cognizant Talent Hunt, 2013 which was very well received by the audience. 1800 children from 30 different schools participated in this event.

ACCENTURE EVENT (UDAAN) AT NOVOTEL 11 hearing impaired children of Ashray Akruti accompanied by teacher Mrs. Swarna Latha and Mrs. Savitri attended the Accenture (Microsoft) event on 17th December. Children were applauded for their mime performance. Hearing impaired children of Ashray Akruti donated a painting done by them to the Accenture team as a token of appreciation.

PROFESSOR GOVINDARAJULU VISIT IIIT Professor and Registrar Mr. Govindarajulu visited Ashray Akruti and showed keen interest in understanding the teaching methods followed by Ashray Akruti. He appreciated and encouraged the staff in their efforts to educate the hearing impaired children.

ACTOR AADI'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Actor Aadi extended his support by celebrating his birthday at Ashray Akruti. Actor Sai kumar and family, members of film industry also visited Ashray Akruti and took part in the celebrations. The children enjoyed the day interacting with

the actors. SCHOOL VISITS

Oakridge school students visited Ashray Akruti and made it very special to the children of Ashray Akruti by interacting with them. Maple School students visited Ashray Akruti and participated in drawing along with the hearing impaired children of Ashray Akruti.

Ashray Akruti. Claps International students visited Ashray Akruti and the principal Mrs.Jaya Shree donated 3 hearing aids. NASSCOMS DIGITAL LITERACY WEEK IT-ITes Industry body Nasscom partnered with technology firms Google, Microsoft, Intel and many other firms organized the second Digital Literacy Week (DLW) at Ashray Akruti fromDecember 9th to December 13th. The goal of this initiative is to make at least one person per household, eliterate and to impart practical and relevant digital skills to those with little or no computer knowledge. During this week, parents and students of Ashray Akruti were trained with basics of computers.

HCL VOLUNTEERING INITIATIVE Volunteers from HCL conducted a program for hearing impaired children from primary classes of Ashray Akruti engaging them variety of fun games and activities.

Ashray Akruti wishes you a Happy Sankranti! Gift the Sense of Hearing! Abdul is a 6 year old hearing impaired child. His mother, hearing impaired herself but passionate to educate her son needs your help. Sponsor Auditory training to Abdul for one year which can help him improve his listening skills. Established in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh in 1996, Ashray Akruti runs a school with a residential facility for hearing impaired children. Ashray Akruti started with five children and now caters to the educational needs of 300 children. Since our inception in 1996, more than 150 hearing-impaired children have been integrated into mainstream schools, colleges and Universities.
